Though I was up at 7, I foofed about on the 'puter, reading, until I finally got myself into the shower. Brekkie was juice and ... wah - no 'nanas. I dressed in my Thursday glamour wear (with red jewelry this time). My driver was early so I was off shortly after noon up to my CNIB meeting. Today's speaker was from the CCAC, so I learned all about special resources in the community. The speaker also handed out folders (very useful).
( See Helenka buy foodies! )
Then I walked back to the Centre. My driver was there by 3:30 (yay) and got me home very quickly. Okay, I'm dressed, but I need to put on my more luxurious hairpiece. ( Helenka babbles about more food! ) Because this was meant to be a family dinner, the food was plated on a large platter and decorated with a few cherry tomatoes. I also brought out the loot bags (okay, so they were Halloween patterns). And, then, we bade our audience a goodnight and sat down to devour the feast.
There's something decadent about having a mound of turkey, dressing, gravy and cranberry sauce all piled on top of each other. Along with the dwinkies and the dessert which had the addition of Brian's homemade brownie on top of the whipped cream, we were stuffed. After dinner we discussed our tapings during the summer. We've decided to focus almost exclusively on salads (healthy and easy). I also want to make my famous gazpacho. And, then, it was time to pack me up (along with extra brownies to share with John). Of course, at that point my spine decided to start screaming. Um, yes, spine, I get the point. Now, please shut up. I'll take a pain killer. But, yes, my taped-way-in-advance Christmas special with my baby brother had been a blast! So it was worth it.
