It was definitely risky business today as I set out for church with only my cane. Yes, I survived, but I sure needed to have chairs all over the place! My friend in the choir led me to the new music director to introduce me. So, he'd seen my email but, then, there were constant emails coming in about Christmas Eve, which pushed me way down the queue. Anyway, he was pleased to answer me in person and I'm thrilled to know that last week's oboist will be back next Sunday. Yay.

I asked Ash whether I could give her the box of fancy cookies (as she doesn't eat gluten) and she said she'd take them to work to share with her colleagues. I also extended my birthday lunch invite to church-John. He can choose any restaurant within the city limits!

When I got home, I hit the bed. Put on last night's SNL and was asleep before J-Lo even began her opening monologue. When I woke up, I went back and watched. The only really funny thing was the Trudeau/Macron/Johnson/Trump cold open. Apparently, there's also a version on This Hour Has 22 Minutes, but I'll have to find it.

So, I went rummaging through Brian's gift bag to me. There's a bit of his homemade raspberry jam as well as a whole bunch of baked treats which, sigh, I cannot recognize. I need a numbered chart! There was also an extra surprise: two Peppa Pig finger puppets. 'cuz I am 5 - or 3! They'll be a scream to play with!

Anyway, I've waited long enough so need to take my pills now. I managed to have some good hours in between the spasms. Just hoping for a decent day tomorrow so I can catch up on my church reviews. And, naturally (/sarcasm), my vision is so crisp tonight, while it had been crap this morning. Luck of the draw, as always, but hope springs eternal.
