It's just too bad I didn't figure it out last night. When I finally went to bed around 1, my heater had continued to make horrid squeling squirrely sounds so I had to turn it off. So grateful to be tucked in securely in my red flannel sheets, so the cold didn't really bother me as long as I kept every part of me under the cpvers. exposing only my face so I could breathe (duh).
In the morning, I turned on the heater. It had stopped squealing. It had also stopped heating, unless it was an inch in front of it. So I guess the heater and fan had died of old age. I managed to survive for most of the day and then thought of using the electric fireplace. I put the heat on high. It only has two settings and no thermostat, but one accepts gifts graciously (oh, thank you church-John!). So, how does it modulate output? By turning off after 60 (or perhaps 90) minutes. That means I'll turn it on a third time when I go to bed so I'll still have some heat. But it's doing a great job spreading heat even though it's further away from the bed and shoots hot air up to the ceiling.
So that was my excitement during the day which otherwise featured me being extra blind. Sigh. I received a phone call from Brian's and my mutual friend Peter in the evening. Turns out he'd sent me an invitation via FB message last Sunday. When I can't see, FB is the last place I'll look for messages. Anyway, he was inviting me to a brunch in Brian's honour this Sunday as Brian will become 50 on the 5th. Alas, with my transportation woes (not to mention my muscle spasms), I had to decline. But I did send him an email later saying how he should join Brian and me on our annual joint birthday trip.
I was disappointed by the absence of my fave shows tonight. The only one on was Young Sheldon which was … okay. But now I'm bored, especially as I can't read with the amount of blurring. Sigh, again.
