So, yes, I had the fondue set delivered yesterday. It was supposed to have a recipe BOOK (I capped it; should it be in italics as well). Huh. When I opened the box, it had three file CARDS, each with one recipe (chocolate, cheese, beef). Excuse me, but that is not a BOOK!!!!! So, this morning, I started hunting up my brochures from my first two fondues. And I found them, as well as the book I bought on electric fondue/wok recipes.
In the same binder as the brochures (and pages torn out of magazines), I found my Oster Kitchen Centre cookbook from the Dark Ages (mid 70s). Yes, kiddies, this was from before the invention of the food processor. My set had a blender, two mixing bowls, a two-beater mixer, and a grinder. Just out of curiosity, I looked at the index. Yes, there was a recipe for gazpacho soup. When I looked it up, I was overjoyed. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes! It was my fave gazpacho recipe, the one that used both red wine vinegar AND red wine. So, here I am all excited, finding a recipe for hot weather soup in the middle of the ice age. Okay, I'll wait patiently (counts down four more months) until I can make it. But, still, yaaaaaaaay.
Foodily excited hugs,
