I've had a hellish couple of days. Well, yesterday wasn't so awful. After all, I got to roast my wonderful veggies for an hour in a mixture of orange-mango juice, olive oil, rosemary and red pepper flakes; and I baked chickie breasts; then John came over for dinner and I served ice cold vodka. At least while he was here, I was vivacious and charming and talking a mile a minute.

But I'd already been affected. The hives are back and much worse than before. At least then the antihistamine worked.

When he left, I had a nap, setting the alarm for 1 a.m. to do the eye drops. After that, I just didn't feel like going back to sleep, so I read.

I was afraid to use soap in the shower this morning, but I still intended to go to church. Well, with less than 30 minutes before my pickup, I was still not dressed because I couldn't even tolerate the feeling of fabric against my skin. So I cancelled my rides and watched the service via webcast. And, at 1:15 in the afternoon, I went to sleep and didn't get up until 6:30.

I am so on edge I feel like screaming. And I've been spraying Bactine on a cotton pad and applying to the most affected areas: my forearms, my neck and left cheek. Oh, I forgot to mention the left side of my face is swollen, too. So, I'm going to have a hot lemon drink (as I think it has more anti-allergy stuff than the pills I've been taking) and am discontinuing the drops for now. I may need to get a cortisone cream (oh, joy NOT) before I resume the drops, but I feel that they've just been building up in intensity and my body just can't tolerate them any more.

Please send pain-numbing vibes.
And knock me out so I can sleep.
Irritable me.
