I woke up soooooo many hours ago (like 5 a.m.) with the lights on. Eeeeeek! Of course, I looked at the clock. Bad. With the pain I was in, I knew I wouldn't fall back asleep. So I got out of bed and washed my hair (and trimmed my bangs so they're cute), as I had lots of time. [John called me at 7:00 from the bus stop, wondering WHY my lights had been on. ::giggles::]
Another Oops. My cab was 35 minutes late, so I called the hospital to let them know we were stuck on the highway (yet another Oops). So, yes, I arrived late for my appointment (but at least I didn't get the ev0l eye from the office staff). ::Cuddles cellphone::
It's a good thing my surgeon has ... minions. She must have a half-dozen satellites (doctors) orbiting around her. The one who saw me today was faaaaaaahbulous. He had fun asking me questions and drew piccies of what he saw in my left eye in my chart. He also taught me a trick about providing an accurate pressure reading: don't hold your breath, just breathe slowly and calmly. Who me, calm? Well, let's try not-quite-with-it. Why? Because it appears I've been putting one of my eyedrops In. The. Wrong. Eye!!!!! Yes, that's definitely a major Oops! Hey, is it any wonder I was confused? Too many eyedrops. But, at least that's straightened out. And it wasn't a super-huge problem. It's just that the right eye was too dilated.
The pressure in both eyes is down (even from last week) but I still have edema occasionally in the operated eye. However, the only thing that would reduce it, the first doc said, is eyedrops that sting! Considering what I told him about my sensitive eyes, we both know that's not a fix. ::pouts:: Anyway, she wants to see me in about a month's time. ::salutes smartly:: Yes, ma'am! And I can reduce the drops to morning and night only. Yaaaaaay!
After the appointment was finally over, I had a little more than half an hour before my pickup. So ... drugstore. And vitamins and face puffs and ... cookies! And, then, home and relaaaaaxing. So much so that a two-hour nap turned into four. Oops, again.
Anyway, I have my confirmation that Brian'll be over for dinner tomorrow. And I called my fave deacon to let her know about the good news, that I don't have the beginnings of macular degeneration, just wonky floaters. If they were evident 24/7, that would've been a different story. BD IM'd me about the Good Friday service and I'm actually considering attending, because my deacon can give me a ride. That would make the entire experience much more serene and poignant (not having to worry about rides being late, etc).
So that was my really good-news-for-a-change day. Which I've been overdue having. I should have more of them. It doesn't take a genius to figure that one out! So, for a welcome change, I'm smiling. And radiating almost-serenity. And that's never an Oops!thing.
