I've just crawled out of bed in order to post. Because my back is acting like an alien thing ... not a part of my body. I'd cry if I weren't so tired of it all.
Anyway, I had lovely groceries delivered this morning. Then, I got quite a surprise when I took my eyedrops: my right eye began to sting. WTF? Eye! What are you doing to me? Well, it was a sign that I shouldn't be going anywhere today. So I sent off a cute e-mail to my lovely deacon, telling her I'd be staying at home and watching the service via webcast. As it turned out, she was resting her right arm and abstaining from using her computer, so she didn't know until she called me.
I'd also exchanged e-mails with RS and told her she could watch the service on her 'puter. Yes, I'm ever so helpful. First, I watched last Sunday's service (as is my weekly treat). Then came tonight's service. The sanctuary appeared to be quite full, judging from how many people came up for communion. As for my virtual participation, I didn't bother with the figs and brandy. I drank ... milk! And I clutched Giggly Ballerina Piggly for company during the sermon. The readings were extremely moving, provided by at least four women and two men (that I could see). The woman who played Jesus was amazing. I didn't know she had such a gift. The service ended with the haunting music of The Mission interpreted by recorder and piano.
And, after that, my back was just screaming at me from sitting in my chair, so I did the nap thing. As you can see, it's been of no help at all. And I get to put eyedrops in and hope they don't cause the stinging sensation again. Anyway, I've fulfilled my only function of the day, that of recording it. And, now, back to bed.
