The eye woke up at 4:45. WTF?
Okay, no going back to sleep, what with the not breathing and feeling too warm. So I started writing. And I watched the two hour finale of Boston Legal, so I could get into character for that story as well.
Otherwise, there was little I could do with no 'net connection. Finally, the repair guy showed up around 1 and stayed until 3. I had him hopping (and he had me going along with it) as there were chairs to be moved so he could get at the cable point of origin. So he was going between the dining table back to the bedroom ('puter and modem) and then outside next to my window (I followed him, so I could let him in via the back door); and always taking his boots off inside my door. I think it was a signal problem and also that some other tech had put a weird inadequate doohickey (yes, such precise terminology, that) outside. So he fixed it and I was very, very, very, very happy. Yes, indeed. I'm also relieved that I'd dusted and vacuumed through the weekend, so that there weren't errant dust bunnies waiting to attack him.
Mind you, 48 hours is a long time to catch up just for LJ. And there were e-mails from friends, too.
John gave me a call and I told him everything was fixed. If it hadn't been, he said I could have come up to his place to use his 'puter. Anyway, he wants us to go for a walk tomorrow evening. Sigh. I guess that means I'll have to put some clothes on. And a coat, because it'll be cooler.
In retrospect, I'm feeling more content about yesterday. Besides, being appreciated is always a good thing. I'm just greedy and needy enough to wish I had it more often. I need a RL *repeat* button! But enough with the delusions, I need to close my eye and go to sleep.
