Previously on Stargate Atlantis in my life, as in Thursday, I still woke up too early, watched the season ender of N.C.I.S. which I found very scary, but didn't have a nap and was sad to get a negative response from Brian regarding having an outdoor picnic this holiday weekend. What! ::sputters in disbelief:: It's a tradition for us to open up the cottage (as we call going to the island the first time each year).

But I was sorta, kinda over it by the time he picked me up (especially when he said he needed the time to work on my birthday cake – whee!). Speaking of cake, I went through his Hershey chocolate cookbook and changed the cake I wanted. This one is going to have lots of nuts (just like me, right?). The “gruel-of-the-day” was split pea and ham to which I added smoky paprika (and also spilt tons onto my black capelet). Then I managed to dribble soup onto my clothes, too. Ack, so uncoordinated. The sandwich was doctored tuna with swiss cheese. Good.

After dinner I told him to grab his iPad and take down dictation as I gave him the menu for our Indian-themed tea party for next week. Oh, do I have an imagination! Well, we already knew that, right? Anyway, he escorted me downstairs at 7:40 for my 7:45 pickup. But I sat and sat and sat and was only picked up (by an apologetic driver who had no control over his schedule) at 8:10. I was just relieved to get home and totally collapse, early as it was.

Today I was up early – again – but loved having the extra time to watch the two finale shows of Battle of the Blades which unfortunately has been cut by the CBC as a response to massive underfunding by the government. Boo. Hiss.

I watched this week's SGA rewatch epi (The Return Part II) my customary three times, including the pathetic audio commentary. ::sighs:: I've just posted my comments to [livejournal.com profile] sga_squee, but don't have the energy to write my closing thoughts. Perhaps tomorrow.

It was so horribly cold out today that I simply can't believe the temps will be soaring this weekend. I'll believe it when my bones and joints stop aching. Read: never!

Okay, I'm way behind on my flist, so I'd better start reading and commenting. IOW, nighty-night, all.
