Yes, I didn't think it would happen, but it did warm up sensationally. Hmm. Is that why my body decided it preferred to wake up around 5, more than an hour before my alarm setting? ::sighs:: Well, it's not as if I minded having extra time to dawdle. I met my driver outdoors as I was walking along my laneway. So he joked he'd "have to charge me extra" because I wasn't at my entrance. I joked back that I'd have to charge him ... now I can't remember why. Obviously he's driven me before (as he keeps reminding me). I got to church early (yay) and sat outside. When my bestest mum showed up, we shared a huge hug. Then I went inside.
As always, a wonderful service. Brent was back after a combined work-vacation trip (or several trips). He spoke with much emotion about several segments. Today was also the day we presented one of our frequent Outreach grants to a TO mosque with LGBT outreach. I get shivers just from the stunning achievement of solidarity. I was on duty and grateful to be of service to others. Afterwards I sat outside waiting with RS for our rides. OMG, she'd gone sailing yesterday and had severely wind-burned forearms. Ouch-ouch-ouch! My driver was a few minutes early. He took many scenic routes that showed me how lush the trees are. Because he couldn't find an address on Simcoe Street for his next pickup, he had to keep returning to University Avenue where I observed the most gorgeous trees south of Dundas (down to the U.S. Consultate): they had purply conical flowers.
When I got in, I was lazy and had tortilla chips and chunky salsa for lunch. Then came a 3-hour nap (with nearly an extra hour just to pull myself out of bed). I've had eggs for dinner and should eat a couple of oranges, pathetic as their quality might be. And I think I'll watch some Glee. Hey, there's ALWAYS room for that show!
And on to tomorrow's equally fabulous forecast. I'm not sure, but it feels like decades since we've had a consistently warm long May weekend. Hey - I'll gladly accept it.
