Obviously, in my world, I can't have the one unless I pay the price. So I did.

After doing mega laundry, I managed to put the bright cherry-red flannel sheets on the bed (bad enough) and then stuffed the disobedient comforter into the patterned duvet cover. I don't know why I don't have the knack though, obviously, it doesn't help that the Ikea cover is made from heavy cotton, so it's less flexible. There are lumps everywhere, even though I tried to even them out. How did I do that? [Okay, I give you FULL permission to laugh at me; yes, I'm really generous that way.] I pulled the mess over my head while I was standing and tried to shake out the lumps. And, then, thoroughly exhausted, I gave up and just laid the thing down as best I could.

OTOH, I think I did a fabulous job of flinging the end of the strand of coloured lights at the top of the tree where it behaved and stayed. Yay! And then I just artfully arranged the strand in a zig-zag pattern down to the base.

After all of my exertions, it's no wonder I needed my nap in my cozy, comfy (and ridiculously warm) bed. But there's no rest for the vain. Tomorrow I'll try to hang up all of my clean clothes in the closet. I'm determined to make this place as cheerful as possible for the holidays.
