Yes, I am all of that. Why?
Well, it could have been because I woke up at 6:30, having to come into the city to sign paperwork at the bank. And there seemed to be an administrative holdup, but it was cleared after I arrived back home. OTOH, my adviser paid me a compliment. She said I was a very kind person. I don't recall why she said that, but it was appreciated.
I did a lot of shopping: anniversary card and an ornament for M; chocolates; mags; shower gels; a couple of magazines; batteries and energizing stockings! Had my usual sushi lunch on the mezzanine patio. I can't believe the beautiful summer day we had, after the raindrops disappeared.
I was back home before 12:30 and had to prepare sandwiches for M and me for tonight. I tried to relax, but it wasn't worth taking my shoes off and lying down. So, anyway, I surprised M with the card and gift. Both were adored. And then we were off on our wild ride. We were early and that's when all hell broke loose for me. There used to be very loud pop and snack machines in the lobby. Now that they're gone, you can hear everybody. Okay, I can hear everybody. At one point, there were at least 3 cellphone conversations going on simultaneously - even amidst other loud chatter. I had a horrid headache, so closed my eyes and huddled under the fleece. I drifted in and out but I couldn't wait to get out of there. M was worried about me and I said that I probably could not come back unless I had on headphones and a sound machine (blocking out irritating voices). Le sigh. Anyway, our driver arrived 20 minutes early and as he'd had a cancellation, we got home around 11:15. That's a nice change from the usual midnight.
So, yes, I'm still cranky and crabby, but it's entirely understandable. I needs my quiet contemplative time. OTOH, I was writing my McShep in my head as we were streaming down the highway with all the lights twinkling outside. So that was a good thing. I hope you all had a better day than moi.
Tired hugs,
H.
