I had a rolicking ride to church this morning. My driver had been at Caribana yesterday and was telling me all sorts of stories. Church was (as is usually the case) amazing. Today's guest was the daughter of one of our ministers who'd been a part of a MCC-church mission to the Dominican Republic. The trip had changed her life and she was still visibly moved weeks later. [In retrospect, it puts my problems into perspective. Mind you, they don't disappear (ha - I wish), but you get the point.] The first reading was from Theresa of Avila and, as I was on duty, I paraphrased some of the words for my communion blessing. It's nice when something just comes to you.

My ride home was early ::cheers:: and the driver dropped me off at the supermarket, so I could stock up on mango-orange juice (a necessity at my place), 'nanas, yellow plums (my new faves), healthy soups, whole wheat tortillas, hot salami, roasted turkey slices, and tzatziki. Oh ... and for the snack addict (who, me?), cheesies. When I got home, I had cold soup and rested for a bit. Then I headed outdoors and sat, reading Middlesex for two hours while munching on the cheesies. And there was intermittent closing of the eyes and just resting. Unfortunately, the breeze was so sprightly that I was COLD (even though I was wearing leggings, a cami, a little dress and my long-sleeved capelet). This is crazy! I watered my plants before retreating indoors.

For supper I made a very sloppy tortilla wrap with the meats, tzatziki, two romaine leaves and a sliced tomato. Hee - I am a very messy eater. Well, NOT normally ... but I was licking my fingers a lot.

And that was my Sunday. Tomorrow I really should get back to writing. And perhaps more time in the garden. Because summer will be over ::sniffs in pathetic manner:: before we know it.

Languorous (oooh, I like that word) hugs,
H.

If it doesn't go all over the place, it doesn't belong in your face? :)

OMG
That's hilarious.
Mind you, I still don't really like to make a mess. It's those short child-like fingers of mine (that I saw on TV at an anti-cencorship panel where I was sitting behind one of the panelists, so I got to see a LOT of me on TV).

Now, if you'll excuse me, I really have to wash my face.

Giggly hugs,
H.
